“God is changing the world through the ministry of Awana by equipping leaders to reach kids with the gospel and engaging them in long-term discipleship.”

Awana (derived from the first letters of “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15) is an international evangelical Christian nonprofit organization founded in 1950. The mission of Awana is to help “reach kids, equip leaders and change the world for God.”

In 2017 Kingman First SBC began the AWANA program with the TREK (Middle School) and Journey (High School) programs. It was our goal to develop Leaders in Training (LIT’s) through these programs that can then help to witness to, train, and fellowship with the younger students in the future. TREK and JOURNEY are on Sunday nights at 6pm during the school year.

Beginning in 2018 with the start of local school programs Kingman First Southern has expanded to include the AWANA program of Cubbies (Preschool), Sparks (K-2nd), and T&T (3rd-6th). Please click on the following links for more information:
