The ‘Young at Heart’ Senior Adult Ministry at Kingman First provides an atmosphere where those in their 50’s, 60’s, and over can participate in a life with Christ and the church that promotes spiritual growth and health, evangelistic outreaches, and opportunities for fellowship and care.
There are many Sunday morning small groups available from 9:45 to 10:45am for the study of God’s Word, worship and friendship building. We have classes specifically designed for older adults, such as the Still Living For The Lord, Ambassadors For Christ, and the Golden Circle of Love classes.
We also have weekly outreach services at The Gardens Assisted Living Center and the Lingenfelter Center for Alzheimer’s Care. These services offer a greatly appreciated opportunity for those unable to travel to regular church services to hear God’s Word, participate in worship, prayer, and encouragement. Team members minister to many individuals, and countless family members and staff. There is an on-going need for speakers, worship leaders and those who will visit on and serve on a regular basis.
Our mandate for visitation is to provide and demonstrate the loving care of Christ by ministering to those in need of comfort, care, and support. Visiting, calling and praying for those who are hospitalized, in assisted living, or homebound is a vital part of linking the pastoral staff and congregation together with those in transitioning life circumstances. Everyone and anyone can be involved, both on an occasional and ongoing basis by listening, supporting, and encouraging through prayer, phone calls, home visits, helping with meals, light housekeeping, respite care, and serving as a link to those who are unable to continue their regular connections to our church family.
